FAQs

GENERAL QUESTIONS
What is cold-pressed juice?

Cold pressing is a method of extracting liquid from plants without denaturing enzymes or breaking down nutrients with high levels of heat or oxygen. This method keeps the health-giving properties of fruits and vegetables intact, while producing live juice that stays fresh for 5-7 days.

Why is the juice so pricey?
Every juice is made from 3-6 pounds of a variety of fruits and vegetables, sourced from small, local producers and imported ingredients. It is then prepared in-house by our dedicated team.

Can the juice be a meal replacement?
Our juice is typically used as a meal enhancer, not a replacement, but it’s a personal choice. We like to sip a juice with a meal or as a quick snack, but if you’re on the go, our juice can make for a satisfying and nutritious substitute.

What is HPP?
High pressure processing is a method that can considerably extend a product’s shelf life. Our juice is never HPP’d, because we don’t believe in tampering with their delicious, natural flavours or nutrients.

CLEANSE QUESTIONS
Is a juice cleanse right for me?
Full disclaimer – we are not doctors and always suggest consulting your doctor before embarking on a cleanse, especially if you have any medical conditions or are on any medications. We do not advise cleansing for individuals that are under the age of 18 or pregnant. Having said that, cleansing is a safe and well-established practice. However, if something doesn't feel right, seek immediate medical assistance.

Will I lose weight on a cleanse?
It is normal to lose a small amount of weight while cleansing; however, this shouldn't be your main motivation and isn't recommended as a long term method for trying to lose weight. For best outcomes, we believe the focus should be on detoxification.

What should I do pre-cleanse?
Leading up to your cleanse you will want to start [if required] removing processed food from your diet and focus more on fruits, vegetables and nuts. Drink lots of water and begin introducing juices into your diet in advance of your cleanse, if you haven't started consuming our juice regularly already. The more disciplined you are heading into the cleanse, the easier it will be on yourself and will have more of an impact.

What should I do while on the cleanse?
Drinking lots of water and herbal tea. If you are really struggling to get through the cleanse, you can always add another juice, drink more water or even turn to light broths or raw veggies. The cleanse is supposed to help you and not be a burden, so listen to your body and make changes to these guidelines when required.

What should I do post-cleanse?
Coming out of your cleanse should be reflective of your habits entering the cleanse. That means keeping processed foods, refined flour and sugar, alcohol, caffeine, dairy and meat out of your diet for at least the first few days (or as long as possible), and prioritizing vegetables, fruit, pulses, whole grains and nuts.

Can I smoke, drink alcohol or drink coffee?
No; we are trying to discard toxins while cleansing. Avoiding these things will allow you to maximize the benefits of a cleanse and might even help you kick a bad habit or two in the process.

Can I exercise while cleansing?
Yes, but we recommend avoiding high intensity exercise. Yoga or light stretching and lower intensity exercises are great options. You may find that you have a great deal of energy, but be careful not to overdo it.
